Regular mole checks are an important part of early skin cancer detection. In our practice, we rely on high-resolution imaging. FotoFinderA system that uses artificial intelligence to objectively detect changes in your skin. Thanks to computer-aided pattern recognition, risk factors can be identified in their early stages, even before they are visible to the naked eye.

The analysis is performed painlessly, without contact, and within just a few minutes. Upon request, we create a digital follow-up monitoring system that allows changes over time to be tracked precisely. The examination is personally evaluated by Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Philipp Jansen or by our trained specialist staff.

If you have a family history of skin cancer, fair skin, or frequent UV exposure, regular skin cancer screenings are especially important. In our practice, we offer a personalized risk assessment and develop a screening schedule tailored to your needs.

A thorough skin cancer screening is based on experience, technology, and time for each individual. We take the necessary time for your examination and explain each step to you clearly and understandably.

Medical history and skin type analysis

We will discuss your personal risk history and make an initial assessment of your skin type as well as relevant factors such as sun exposure and family history.

Examination and imaging

The clinical examination is performed in combination with dermatoscopy and, if desired, with the AI-supported FotoFinder system. We also offer digital follow-up monitoring upon request.

Evaluation, discussion and follow-up

We will explain all findings to you in detail. If necessary, we will discuss the next steps together. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled individually.

How often should I have a skin cancer screening?

The legal recommendation for people aged 35 and over is every two years. More frequent screenings may be advisable in cases of a family history of skin cancer, very fair skin, numerous moles, or intense UV exposure. We will advise you individually and determine the optimal examination interval for your skin together.

Is skin cancer screening covered by health insurance?

Yes, from the age of 35, statutory health insurance companies cover the costs of a standardized skin cancer screening every two years. Additional services such as computer-aided analysis with the FotoFinder Digital progress monitoring is medically beneficial, but usually falls under the category of individual health services (IGeL). We will provide you with transparent information about this during your consultation.

What happens if a noticeable skin change is discovered?

Should a suspicious finding be detected during the examination, further investigation will take place in our practice – for example, through a detailed dermoscopic analysis, a skin biopsy, or outpatient removal with histological examination. Thanks to our surgical focus, we can perform many procedures directly on-site without the need for a referral to a hospital.

What is the difference between dermatoscopy and FotoFinder?

Dermoscopy is a magnifying-lens-based examination used to assess skin changes. FotoFinder This method is complemented by high-resolution imaging and AI-assisted analysis. It detects even the smallest changes over time and is particularly useful for patients with many moles or those at high risk. The combination of both methods significantly increases diagnostic accuracy.

Due to high demand, we offer a walk-in consultation for acute venous disorders such as leg pain, swelling, or suspected thrombosis. Please note that this consultation is intended exclusively for urgent cases. As the number of available slots is limited, we may not be able to treat you on the same day. Appointments for subsequent days are not possible during the walk-in consultation.

If you need an appointment quickly, we recommend using the GP referral procedure. In this case, please have your GP refer you directly to us. We reserve specific time slots daily for such cases – so you can usually be seen within one to three working days.
