Modern vein diagnostics using ultrasound
Diagnosing venous diseases requires the utmost precision, as not every visible vein requires treatment and not every varicose vein causes immediate symptoms. Therefore, in our practice, we rely on color-coded duplex sonography, a state-of-the-art ultrasound procedure that visualizes not only the anatomy but also the blood flow within the veins.
This allows us to detect functional disorders, venous valve insufficiency, or the early stages of varicose veins at an early stage. The examination is painless, takes only a few minutes, and is evaluated on-site. Based on this, we will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan that is well-founded, easy to understand, and tailored to your daily life.
Outpatient vein surgery directly on site
When varicose veins cause discomfort or need to be removed for medical reasons, surgical treatment is often the most effective solution. In our practice, we have been performing outpatient vein surgeries such as crossectomy for many years – adhering to high safety standards and in cooperation with experienced anesthesiologists.
In this method, the diseased vein is removed or bypassed through a small incision. The procedures are performed in our specially equipped operating rooms and do not require hospitalization. In most cases, you can return to work and sports activities after just a few days. Modern techniques and precise aftercare ensure rapid healing, an aesthetically pleasing result, and lasting freedom from symptoms.

Treatment process –
This is how vein treatment works in our practice.
From the initial examination to the follow-up appointment, we support you with experience, care, and modern technology. Every step is individually tailored to your symptoms and daily life.
Diagnosis and consultation
We conduct a comprehensive medical history and venous diagnostics and discuss the findings and possible therapies with you.
Treatment
Depending on the findings, we use laser treatment, compression therapy, sclerotherapy or surgical crossectomy – on an outpatient basis and with minimal pain.
Follow-up and monitoring
After the procedure or therapy, we accompany your recovery with check-ups and individual aftercare for a lasting treatment success.

Treating varicose veins with endovenous laser therapy
Endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) is a minimally invasive method for treating truncal venous insufficiency, one of the most common causes of varicose veins. A thin laser probe is inserted into the affected vein under ultrasound guidance. Targeted heat application closes the vein from the inside out, without the need for surgical removal.
EVLT is particularly gentle, virtually painless, and involves minimal downtime. It can be performed on an outpatient basis and is also suitable for patients with an increased surgical risk. In many cases, statutory and private health insurance companies cover the treatment costs. We will provide you with comprehensive advice and tailor the therapy precisely to your individual anatomy.
Targeted removal of spider veins
Spider veins are small, superficial veins that usually appear on the legs as fine, reddish-blue lines. Although they are generally harmless from a medical perspective, many people find them bothersome. In our practice, we offer an aesthetically pleasing and effective treatment. Using a procedure called sclerotherapy, we seal off the affected vessels with a special solution that is injected directly into the vein.
Alternatively, we use modern laser systems to treat particularly fine or sensitive vessels without injections. Both procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, are well-tolerated, and require no anesthesia. Visible improvements can be achieved in just a few sessions. Before each treatment, we examine the area with ultrasound to rule out underlying causes and ensure a lasting, beautiful result.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you frequently suffer from heavy legs, feelings of tension, swelling, nighttime leg cramps, or visible varicose veins, we recommend a medical examination. Spider veins can also indicate an underlying venous disorder. The earlier a venous disorder is detected, the simpler and less invasive the treatment. Regular checkups are also advisable for those with a family history of venous disease or those with jobs that require prolonged standing.
Following a thorough diagnostic examination using color-coded ultrasound, we will discuss the appropriate treatment with you. Depending on the findings, conservative measures (e.g., compression stockings), sclerotherapy, endovenous laser treatment (EVLT), or outpatient surgery may be considered. All procedures are performed in our practice under close specialist supervision and are gentle, effective, and individually tailored.
Endovenous laser therapy is a particularly gentle procedure. During the treatment, the vein is locally anesthetized, so the procedure is usually barely noticeable. Most patients only experience a slight sensation of warmth. After the treatment, patients are usually mobile and able to resume their social activities quickly. Extended downtime is very rare.
In many cases, yes. For medically necessary varicose veins, both statutory and private health insurance companies cover the costs of surgery or laser therapy. Certain sclerotherapy procedures are also reimbursable. Treatments motivated by aesthetic reasons, such as for spider veins without functional impairment, are usually considered a self-pay service. We would be happy to advise you on the individual costs.
